Praise for Be All That You Can Buy:
In addition to their original-song and short-film prowess, the [Royal We] writes social commentary without being-heavy handed. See them now before they're sponsored.

- Time Out New York

Political humor like this is usually tricky terrain, but improv/sketch comedy troupe The Royal We tackles the genre with brainy panache. Their take on various current cultural phenomena yields consistent laughs.

The character-driven skits and not-so-subtle irreverence are reminiscent of the MTV sketch comedy gem, "The State," and Comedy Central's, "The Kids in the Hall"...some of the smartest New York comedy this year.

Do Not Miss This Show! Go check out The Royal We and challenge them to make you laugh... they [will] have you howling and possibly peeing in your pants...

If you are looking for a Yank to make you smile, laugh and virtually soil yourself, go no further than The Royal We. (Actually it is 5 yanks)...[They] translate what most people are thinking into sketches that make you laugh out loud.

Buzz

Buzz for our 1984:iPod video:
"Ha!... A very well-done parody..."

- David Pogue, New York Times.com - Pogue's Posts

This is an extremely well-made, funny send-up of the Apple 1984 Macintosh ad, and the re-release of the ad that came last year, with an added iPod: "Apple: We've got your revolution for sale."

- Cory Doctorow, BoingBoing.net

The Royal We's fabulous goof on Apple's Orwellian Macintosh ad. Fat guys doing a sincere runner never fails to amuse.

- Screenhead (Gawker Media)

...The Royal We's parody (in glorious Quicktime, of course) of Apple's famous 1984 commercial... features Apple as Big Brother and its weapon of choice is the iPod. This... does ring true, to a certain extent. Will we still love Apple when it rules all?

- Scott McNulty, The Unofficial Apple Weblog

A brilliant jab at Apple's seminal TV spot. Thanks to TheRoyalWe.org.

- ifilm.com

Truly inspired.

General Buzz:

42nd Underground's weekly shows mix sketch comedy, standup, and improv. Todd Barry and Lewis Black are their biggest names thus far, but tonight's queue of comics, including The Royal We troupe, boasts much potential.

Most of America (or at least the America I know) could use a good laugh right about now...so I'm highly recommending "Be All that You Can Buy," a sketch comedy revue by The Royal We... It's funny as !@#$ %& so go see it....

-Wendy Mitchell, Managing Editor, indyWIRE.com

I want to say congratulations to The Royal We!!!! It is about time they are getting the attention they deserve as one of the funniest, smartest comedy groups in the city. Keep on rockin' "We"! You are amazing!

-Brian Steele, Moustache McFadden

If you've never seen live sketch comedy before,...[Sketchfest Seattle] artistic director Val Bush offered some pointers, saying she was very excited about The Royal We, a troupe from New York that specializes in political satire....

-The Stranger (Seattle weekly)

[The Royal We] are hilarious, savvy and some of them are beautiful.

-John Monteith, NYTheater.com interview

Some friends of mine... went to the Chicago Improv Festival in May. When I went home for a couple weeks in June, they couldn't stop telling me about this awesome group from New York they saw, The Royal We, particularly a sketch they do where they all have multi-colored shirts and sing about the terror alert system. I heard stoned high school friends of mine attempt to describe that song SO MANY f***ing times. It must be good.
